Organiser Geoff Isherwood – 079 762 59000

The Club runs a popular Bridge League nearly every Thursday during the winter. At present over 30 members take part in very friendly, but competitive Bridge.
Each individual is awarded a handicap at the start of the season based on past performance and/or level of playing ability and this is reviewed once during the season.
We play Duplicate Bridge starting at 6.45 p.m. and are usually able to play 22 Boards before finishing at about 10.00 p.m.
Gross and Net scores are recorded for each week and prizes are awarded at the end of the season for the pairs with the highest points scored in both categories. Only the best 12 scores of each pair through the season count for the league.
As there are over 20 opportunities to play during the season, it is not essential to play every week to compete in the league.
New players, individuals or pairs, are always very welcome and Social Membership of the Club is available at modest cost.
interested should contact the organiser for more details.

Unfortunately an unfortunate extraneous event prevented us starting on time and the consequence was that only 20 boards were played. Nevertheless there was another excellent performance by Paul and Steve to top the Gross League, with Stuart and Jack topping the Net League and achieving second place in the Gross League. Barbara and Marion had a good result finishing second in the Net League.
One notable achievement was that all the travellers were completed without a single error, so thank you for taking note of last week's comment!
